Gimbap Recipe

Gimbap Recipe

Quick and Easy Gimbap Rolls 🍣

• 2 cups sushi rice, cooked and seasoned with rice vinegar
• 5 sheets of seaweed (nori)
• 1 carrot, julienned
• 1 cucumber, julienned
• 1/2 pound (225g) cooked and seasoned spinach
• 5 strips of pickled yellow radish (danmuji)
• 10 imitation crab sticks
• Soy sauce and sesame oil for dipping

1. Prepare Ingredients:

• Cook sushi rice and season it with rice vinegar. Let it cool.
• Julienne the carrot and cucumber into thin strips.
• Cook spinach, squeeze out excess water, and season with a bit of soy sauce and sesame oil.
• Cut the pickled yellow radish into thin strips.
• Cut imitation crab sticks in half lengthwise.

2. Set Up Rolling Station:

• Place a bamboo sushi rolling mat on a clean surface.
• Put a sheet of plastic wrap over the mat.
• Lay a sheet of seaweed on top of the plastic wrap, shiny side down.

3. Assemble Gimbap:

• Wet your hands to prevent the rice from sticking. Spread a thin layer of rice over the seaweed, leaving a small border at the top.
• Arrange a few strips of each ingredient (carrot, cucumber, spinach, radish, and crab) in a line at the bottom of the rice.

4. Roll Gimbap:

• Lift the edge of the bamboo mat closest to you and start rolling the gimbap away from you, tucking in the ingredients as you go.
• Seal the edge with a bit of water.
• Repeat for the remaining sheets of seaweed.

5. Slice and Serve:

• Using a sharp knife, slice each rolled gimbap into bite-sized pieces.
• Arrange them on a plate, and you're ready to serve!

6. Dipping Sauce:
• Mix soy sauce and a few drops of sesame oil for a simple and tasty dipping sauce.
